Different apps to help with plant ID

As well as the books listed at the beginning of this section, there are also some apps that can help us when we're learning to identify new plants.
Here are three that I've tried with mixed results:
Seek by iNaturalist (gives the most reliable results)
British Tree Identification by The Woodland Trust (can be a bit hit and miss)
Google Lens (this is for more than just plants so may not be as accurate as the other two).

If you've tried any of these apps or others that are not listed, please share your recommendations in the comments below.

As I mentioned in the 'Language, reciprocity and ID' lesson in the Welcome section, I've heard of folks being given potentially dangerous misidentifications using apps for plant ID with the example of someone scanning poisonous Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) only to be told that it was perfectly edible Clary Sage! So if you're planning on eating the plant you've found, do make sure you verify their ID by checking in a book, with others in this group or other communities (e.g. there are lots of facebook groups out there where you can post photos of plants for a second, third or firth opinion!)
